Christmas Family Slideshow Video - 2013

It's December, 2013 and it is that time of the year again when I'm posting our Christmas slideshow. The Christmas pictorial as well as the making of this slideshow has become our cherished Christmas Tradition.

In an article I wrote, "Christmas Past and Present", I detailed the inspiration for starting and preserving this tradition as well as the lessons learned on how to make it work. If you want to learn more about this cherished Christmas tradition of ours, as well as tips and techniques, be sure to read the article "Christmas Past and Present" and all its links.

This Year's 2013 Christmas Theme

Green color would be the theme for this year's Christmas slideshow. Among the dominant Christmas colors, it's probably the only one we've not done. We've done white, yellow, blue and red.

For the Christmas slideshow's music theme, I still gravitated towards ABS-CBN's Christmas station id songs. In 2010, the company released the song "Ngayong Pasko Magniningning Ang Pilipino" (This Christmas, The Filipinos will Shine) performed by Gary Valenciano, Toni Gonzaga and the UST Singers.

It starts out slow and then the beats reverberate all througout. The selection is quite lengthy at 5 and a half minutes. So I pared it down to just 5 minutes by removing 2 stanzas.

Longest Christmas Slideshow Video

This, by far, is the longest slideshow video I've created. Obviously, the slideshow would be as long as the music theme's running time.

With ample room to accommodate all the 2013 birthday pictures, I incorporated various transitions which made use of picture animations and effects. Faces start as black-and-white, turn color and then transition into group pictures.

The Christmas pictures sequencing tell a nice story about local traditions and icons in Philippine Christmas.
