Pasko Na Sinta Ko Karaoke - Gary Valenciano

"Pasko Na, Sinta Ko" (It's Christmas, My Love) by Gary Valenciano, also known as Gary V., is a favorite romantic Christmas song for Filipinos and is one of the most re-made. It was writtten by Francis Dandan with lyrics by Aurelio Estanislao.

Pasko Na Sinta Ko Song Trivia

Gary Valenciano released the song "Pasko Na Sinta Ko" in 1986 under WEA records for the album, "From Gary, Merry Christmas".

Gary V's original release remains to be the most popular version of the song and he continues to sing the song with the original arrangement from 1986 because of its simplicity and the enduring message it brings.

Athough it has been performed by local solo singers both male and female, it is also performed by international artists like Lea Salonga and David Pomeranz.

Regularly appearing or ranked in the popular Filipino music hit list and charts, "Pasko Na Sinta Ko" has also been sung by the Philippine Madrigal Singers, perhaps by far the best rendition of the song among its choral versions.

Of all the contemporary Filipino Christmas songs written, "Pasko Na, Sinta Ko" is probably the most covered, most well-loved composition. The song neatly bridges the Filipinos' love for Christmas traditions with the intrinisic love for love, period. Written as a harana (seranade), it gushes with all the lovesick earnestness that has made the Philippines the ballad capital of Southeast Asia.

More than a Christmas melody, "Pasko Na Sinta Ko" is a love song and evokes the nostalgia and yearning of those who are spending the Christmas holidays without their loved ones. The song is specially evocative for Filipino overseas workers and expatriates as it captures celebrating Christmas in less than cheerful circumstances.

Sadly, the song is forever remembered on a tragic note. The composer, Francis Dandan, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Jan. 30, 2001. In spite of the song's phenomenal success, Dandan committed suicide due to financial difficulties.

It's hard to imagine that the composer of one of the Philippines' most durable pop classics should have had to suffer through a destitute existence.

Pasko Na Sinta Ko Song Lyrics
(although there is no official English version of the song, here is a translation of the lyrics.)

Pasko na sinta ko hanap-hanap kita
(It’s Christmas, my love. I’m longing for you.)
Bakit nagtatampo't nilisan ako
(What did I do, that made you leave me?)

Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
(If you’ll be gone from my side, my love)
Paano ang Paskong inulila mo?
(What will happen to my Christmas that you made so lonely?)

Sayang, sinta ang sinumpaan
(Our promises have gone to waste, my love)
At pagtitinginang tunay
(And our love that was so true)
Nais mo bang kalimutang ganap
(Do you wish to forget everything)
Ang ating suyuan at galak?
(All our affection and joys?)

Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
(If you’ll be gone from my side, my love)
Paano ang Paskong alay ko sa'yo?
(What will happen to my Christmas that I offer to you?)

MUSICAL
INTERLUDE

Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
Paano ang Paskong inulila mo

Sayang, sinta ang sinumpaan
At pagtitinginang tunay
Nais mo bang kalimutang ganap
Ang ating suyuan at galak

Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
Paano ang Paskong alay ko sa'yo
