Recognition and Achievement Awards Display

This is a continuation of the article on mounting medals and trophies for display.

Not all of the items in the display cabinet shelves are medals, ribbons and trophies. There are many other items in your kids' stuff that are bound to add interest and variety to the display.

A portrait for instance, easily identifies the shelf to its owner. Adding these pieces of items will even out and balance the number of items that are showcased among the shelves so none would appear lackluster.

Mounting Medals and Ribbons for Display

This is a continuation of my article on ideas for an awards display cabinet. This article discusses how you can easily mount medals and ribbon awards on a display board (corkboard).

The mounting pins to be used on the corkboard are 1/2" to 3/4" long. These are shorter than the regularly bought sewing pins.

If you already have short pins with the flat heads, then skip the following section. Otherwise, follow the steps below to make your own mounting pins for medals, ribbons and other items.

Awards Display Cabinet Ideas

This is the continuation of the previous article on the display cabinet for medals, awards and trophies.

My first approach to gather ideas was to search the internet for awards cases and cabinets. There were plenty of medal cases that were made of wood. They looked very nice (and expensive!).

I've seen a few of these medal cases in some bookstores and even hardware stores. They practically looked like thick picture frames. The frame had the typical glass cover but with recessed back so you can mount medals inside.

Display Cabinet for Awards, Medals and Trophies

For the longest time, I've been contemplating on what to do with the kids' certificates, medals, ribbons, trophies and other awards stashed away somewhere around the house. Fortunately the kids have had their share of recognition from academics, sports and music.

Some of these awards, like the trophies, are displayed on top of bookshelves and dividers. Of course, you know that aside from the dust and cobwebs enveloping them, these awards are no longer that presentable.

So after a few weeks of organizing the kids' stuff, I found a way to showcase their achievements in a display cabinet that I call the "Achievers Corner". Shown below is the culmination of that project.
