Fitness Challenge

DISCLAIMER: The above fitness challenge is NOT sanctioned, in any way, by Toastmasters International. It is a fun activity organized by people who just happened to be Toastmasters and are looking to lose some weight. So there.

Joining the Fitness Challenge

The first time I heard of this was just a week ago and got me curious. It sounds a novel yet fun idea with the goal of losing weight. The novelty is the organizers' adding a free DisCon ticket as a reward.

So today, Saturday, November 24, several Toastmasters of Division H had their weights recorded. Whoever has the biggest percentage of weight loss by January 31, 2019 will win and get a free ticket to the Toastmasters District Convention in Cebu.

Getting Heavy

This may be an opportune time for me to actually lose weight. Not that I sorely need it, but I think I reached a plateau in my desire to lose fat. Fat, and not necessarily weight, because I'd want to have more muscle also.

Recent events have not helped. November marks two of my daughters' birthdays. Just yesterday, Sunday, my daughter Sandra celebrated her birthday at home. We had the usual birthday feast, yummy cake and ice cream.

Last week was Che's birthday. She wanted it a bit different and decided to give us a treat! We had unlimited grilled pork and beef, iced tea and all the sidings.

You got that right, U-N-L-I-M-I-T-E-D. It seemed like a challenge for me and my son Rence as to who could eat the most meat! Ha!ha!

Next week's gonna be another "challenge" to make through this fitness challenge. It will be Rence's birthday.

Breaking the 70 Kg Barrier

I have been doing Intermittent Fasting since last year, 2017. It actually became the topic of a couple of my Pathways speeches: IF-Intermittent Fasting and Intermittent Fasting Made Easy.

Intermittent Fasting worked for me. But for some reason, I felt I've reached a plateau. It seemed I couldn't get past below the 70 kg barrier. I'm hoping to break that barrier with this Fitness Challenge. So, the goal for now is to go down to 65 kg by March 31, 2019.

Good luck to all participants, and may the biggest loser WIN !!!
