SM Mall Christmas Fireworks Display

For a few weekends now, we have been treated with a wonderful spectacle from the nearby mall, SM Muntinlupa (sometimes called SM Tunasan).

This Christmas tradition started way back in 2007 when the mall opened in November of that year.

The SM fireworks display starts at 7:00 pm and lasts for 5 minutes. We Pinoys are already so used and tired of the old yearly firecrackers that do nothing but pak! pak! boom! and pollute the streets.

By this I'm referring to the usual rebentador, sawa, pla-pla, kwitis that the neighbors show off. And so a fireworks display that SM offers is truly a treat. Every year, there seems to be something new.

There are now fireworks display that seem to dance in the air, do spirals, do a fountain-like rain and even break up multiple times in the sky - just like splitting atoms.

I'm glad that the mall is near our subdivision. The second they hear the initial bursts of cracker sounds at 7 pm, my kids rush excitedly to the second floor of our house to witness that brief fireworks display. I heard it's a sight to behold just to be there at the SM mall grounds.

If you're passing by the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) on a Saturday this December at around 7pm, you'll even notice the fireworks display from there. The mall is located just between the Susana Heights and San Pedro Exits. See the map below for reference.
