After one side of the template has been drawn, shift the ruler to the drawn side and continue drawing on the other side.

- Occasionally check the drawing on the felt cloth by partially lifting the paper template. When the entire outline has been drawn with pen marker ink, check for gaps if there any, on the outline.

In my modification, for example, I revised the horns slightly to make them look more "bony", hence a bit more realistic. This would make them less rounder or fuller which contributed to that "clip-arty" look. The overall length of the antler didn't change.
Be sure to put the final drawing on a folded piece of paper. In the drawing, I simply moved the shorter horn and added a third one. Do the modified sketches in pencil. When ready, complete the outline with a pen marker.

This Christmas, I've broached again the question on what theme we'll be having for the Christmas picture. In the previous years, we've had the color themes. So we've had blue, red, yellow, white, green and gray. Colors we've not used yet include orange, pink, and violet. Since three of us already have orange shirts, we finally decided on taking the orange theme. The three girls who did not have orange shirts went on to buy new shirts!

It's December, 2013 and it is that time of the year again when I'm posting our Christmas slideshow. The Christmas pictorial as well as the making of this slideshow has become our cherished Christmas Tradition.

Make the Christmas Picture Tradition Work
In a past entry, I discussed how the Christmas Picture tradition came about and later, the inspiration for this unique Christmas tradition. The output slides and slideshows are actually a product of planning, photo-editing and slideshow software skills.You might consider this tradition a lifelong work that will continue as the years go by. But how will you manage the yearly Christmas event to ensure that you do get quality photos you will be using for the slideshows?
Unique Christmas Tradition Inspiration
In a past entry, I discussed a yearly Christmas tradition that we have as a family. Nearing December, usually at the first Sunday of Advent, I'd take pictures of the kids by the Christmas Tree. I then arrange all the past and present Christmas pictures into a Christmas Collage. Before Christmas, I'd send the collage to friends as Christmas Cards or electronic greeting cards.
The collages have since evolved into Christmas Slideshows which I also now post in social networking sites like Facebook.
My Morning Rush Top Ten Entry
Chico and Delamar are probably a couple of the most successful disc jockeys (DJ's) ever to ride the FM Band racetracks. They're currently over at DWFM Monster Radio RX 93.1. They've been in the business for decades. Not that they're old though. But they certainly have a big following especially in their segment called the Morning Rush's Top Ten.
When I was still working, I'd listen to the Morning Rush with Chico and Delamar program virtually everyday. I'd tune it to their radio program as early as 6am. As I drove to work, the program kept my cool whenever there was heavy traffic on the way.
Although I'd switch stations to listen to some news on the AM band, I'd try to always catch the Top Ten segment batches. Chico and Delamar would air 5 of the top winning entries every 30 minutes, so there would be a Top Ten every hour.

With the 2010 Christmas Picture in, it's time to compile all previous Christmas pictures. In the tradition of our family's "Christmases Past and Present", here is our slideshow for 2010.
Misa de Gallo Philippines 2009
This year would be the first year that DH and I will be attending the Misa de Gallo consistently.
Today's the 6th day of the Misa de Gallo or Simbang Gabi as Filipinos call it locally. We were able to attend the 5:30am morning mass instead of the 4am because all the kids are now on Christmas break.
I have to say that there were more people attending the 4am mass rather than the 5:30am one. This is to the point that the church had to devise some new guidelines to make the Holy Communion part more orderly.
Shown below is a photo of the Christmas tableau behind the altar at the St. Peregrine Laziosi Shrine. This is the church where we hear mass regularly. Notice the presence of usherettes (in blue shirts) manning the communion stations.

SM Mall Christmas Fireworks Display
For a few weekends now, we have been treated with a wonderful spectacle from the nearby mall, SM Muntinlupa (sometimes called SM Tunasan).
This Christmas tradition started way back in 2007 when the mall opened in November of that year.
The SM fireworks display starts at 7:00 pm and lasts for 5 minutes. We Pinoys are already so used and tired of the old yearly firecrackers that do nothing but pak! pak! boom! and pollute the streets.

Christmas Past and Present
One of the Christmas traditions at our old house apart from the usual like the hanging of Christmas lights and Noche Buena was to take a picture of the kids by the Christmas tree. And every year (I don't remember since when), I emailed "Christmas Greeting Cards" bearing these photos to friends.
Those "cards" have now turned into Christmas slideshows.
In 2007, I texted this tradition of ours as an Top Ten entry to the The Morning Rush radio program.

That first line of the Bee Gees (and Jose Feliciano) song entitled "First of May" kept playing in my head when we assembled the Christmas tree that mom gave us when we went home to have the parol fixed.
The last time that this tree was set up, believe it or not, was when my sister and I were in our elementary years. Yup, that was DECADES ago - in the 70's!

I swear it took us several weeks to assemble the tree. I don't remember my dad helping in setting it up as he's mostly averse to mundane household chores. :) I believe we used stools and chairs to reach the tree just so we could help mom put in place the plastic branches.

Fixing the Christmas Parol
Last Nov.29, Sunday, we motored to Pampanga for our monthly visit to my mom. It was a perfect opportunity to bring our old parol that needed fixing.
A couple of its bulbs were busted; the twinkling (folks call it winker) gadget wasn't working; and the plastic cover needed replacing.

Setting up the Tree
We bought a new Christmas tree from Ace Hardware Muntinlupa coz we threw the old one. The old one has been with us for the longest time and its plastic has been deteriorating.

Christmas Parlor Games
There was heavy traffic going to Makati on the 25th and so we treated ourselves to the Skyway. Renz claimed it was his first and was excited! We brought Amber Palabok and Pichi-pichi to the party. This time it was lunch.
