With the pandemic, we have to find ways to continue exercising outdoors as safe, yet as comfortable, as possible. Even when wearing the requisite face masks, early morning walks can be made more enjoyable by using Ear Saver Straps.
Here's how you can make a durable, cheap and easy-to-make Ear Saver in less than 1 hour. There's no gluing need, so no curing or drying times. No sewing or crocheting required either. All you need are easily available materials and simple household tools.

Neck Decompression Traction Device - Homemade and Portable
Many years ago, my Rehab Doctor said I had Cervical Spondylosis. Nothing was prescribed, not even physical therapy. It was something that my x-ray resuts showed. The rehab doctor suggested the x-ray after a series of physical therapy I had for my shoulder.
Aside from the occasional creaking sound in my neck and some discomfort, there is no real neck or back pain unlike what I read from others in facebook discussion groups for Cervical Spondylosis. The discomfort, however, necessitated some nightly massages on my back from the wife.

Cheap Homemade Computer Fan Dust Filter - Part 4
(This is the continuation from Part 3)
After only four days of installing the computer fan dust filter, I've already seen dust being trapped by the filter material. I'm not totally surprised. It's been extraordinarily windy this past few days.

Cheap Homemade Computer Fan Dust Filter
In a recent article I wrote, I discussed how to make a simple computer fan dust filter out of a disposable clear plastic lid and used stockings. The filter material worked very well.
Shown below is the dust filter when I took out from the computer case. Notice the grayish circles on the filter?

In the first part of this article, much has been discussed on how the idea of using a computer fan dust filter came about. In the second part, the topic revolved on the importance of a desktop dust filter as well as the design and the materials needed to make an improvised filter.
This part continues with the tools as well as the procedure to make a computer fan dust filter.

When the air-intake fan of the computer case turns, it sucks air from the outside to blow it inside the computer and cool the internal electrical components. With this process, however, the fan invariably brings ambient dust as well.
To ensure hot air that builds up inside the computer is expelled, an exhaust fan is installed at the rear side of the computer. The power supply unit has a dedicated fan for this purpose also. It is located at the rear of the unit.

DIY Computer Fan Dust Filter
I've not considered using desktop dust fan filters because they're unheard of in where I live as far as I know. I didn't even know they existed. If they were commonplace, I would have seen them being peddled as freebies bundled up in computer package promos.
Anyway, this topic wouldn't even have come up had it not been from a noisy exhaust fan from the computer case. I've had plans on having it replaced because of the irritating sound, but I somehow just kept putting it off.

Roman Wrist Guards, Cuffs or Bands for the Roman Soldier Uniform
For me, nothing beats the "warrior look" other than with a pair of mean-looking wrist bands or wrist guards. Sometimes they're also called wrist cuffs. I've made these before for a Mercury or Hermes (the god of speed) costume.

Roman Apron Belt, Battle Skirt or Groin Guard
One of the accessories truly distinctive of a Roman soldier's military uniform is the Roman apron belt. It is sometimes called the leather war or battle skirt and forms part of the belt (Cingulum militare). The apron essentially protects the lower part of the soldier's body particularly the groin. Hence it is also referred to as the groin guard.

With barely a week to prepare for my son's monologue speech from the "Florante at Laura" poem, I'm happy that we were able to produce a convincing (at least to us and his classmates) Roman soldier uniform - given the limited time.
So let's dissect the parts and accessories that made up the Roman General/Soldier Uniform costume that we put up together.

It's that time of the year again in school when students are gearing up for speech contests. In the recent past, speech choirs have been the trend. It seems that this year, individual speeches are on the comeback.
Personally, I'd rather have students give individual speeches rather than perform in speech choirs. Speech choirs require them to meet together at an agreed place and practice a set choreography for the group. Individual speeches give the students the freedom to be more creative on their own. And individual speeches may be practiced conveniently at home.

- Occasionally check the drawing on the felt cloth by partially lifting the paper template. When the entire outline has been drawn with pen marker ink, check for gaps if there any, on the outline.

In my modification, for example, I revised the horns slightly to make them look more "bony", hence a bit more realistic. This would make them less rounder or fuller which contributed to that "clip-arty" look. The overall length of the antler didn't change.
Be sure to put the final drawing on a folded piece of paper. In the drawing, I simply moved the shorter horn and added a third one. Do the modified sketches in pencil. When ready, complete the outline with a pen marker.

DIY Christmas Reindeer Antler Headband
This Christmas, I've broached again the question on what theme we'll be having for the Christmas picture. In the previous years, we've had the color themes. So we've had blue, red, yellow, white, green and gray. Colors we've not used yet include orange, pink, and violet. Since three of us already have orange shirts, we finally decided on taking the orange theme. The three girls who did not have orange shirts went on to buy new shirts!
