It's time for another break from the regular healthy and fit diet. In other words, it's time to indulge a bit for Che's 18th birthday. Indulgence came from the Ho Chai Lai restaurant platter we picked up on the way to my mother-in-law's house in Makati.
My mother-in-law is still recovering from her hip and wrist injury at home. She completed her physical therapy exercises for her legs and her wrist therapy exercises will soon follow. We figured as we celebrate Che's birthday there, we could cheer her up a bit.

Enrollment at UP Diliman 2010

We left at around 8 am to hopefully finish the last leg of Che's enrollment in UP Diliman. Little did we expect that the process of shifting course and campus would be so laborious and time-consuming.

Fun Run as Physical Education Finals
Yesterday was Che's P.E. class finals and for that, they had a fun run. Che studies at UP Manila but their finals, a couple of laps run, was held at the UP Oval in Diliman.
That's because UP Manila doesn't have its own running oval. Also, since all the Physical Education classes finals were held simultaneously, they needed a much bigger running track.
The UP oval is an ideal place for the venue. In fact there were other runners and many just for fitness exercise.
From the outfits you could discern some were triathlon runners, marathon runners and sports runners. Mostly, though, they were the recreational fitness runners.
There were many runners there but not enough to crowd the running track. Some were triathletes on their time trainer bikes while some folks walked with their dogs. Click on the left image to see the UP Diliman Academic Oval via google maps.

72-Hour Survival Kit
My eldest daughter, Che, who is in first year college, announced she needed to prepare a 72-hour survival kit. This is for her subject Natural Science, or NatSci.
She needed to gather up all the items for the kit, make up a list of the items, take a photo of the kit and submit it to the professor. That's about much I know about the project.
The first thing she did was to search the web for survival items that constitute a 72-Hour Survival Kit. Why 72 hours? Well, supposedly, that means 3 days of waiting before a rescue happens.
The items that turned up on her search were the usual: bottled water, food, first aid kit, flash light, pocket knife, matches, candles, etc. I asked her what situation was the survival setting in? Floods? Hurricanes? Earthquake? Fire?

Che's Birthday 2009
The Pacman fever is on (again). Yesterday, a local barangay kagawad stopped his car in the middle of the street to hand out free tickets. This is for the Manny Pacquio - Miguel Cotto fight. The viewing will be at the local multi-purpose covered court of the subdivision.
For a while I thought he was campaigning and was handing out pocket sized calendars.

Myringotomy with Bilateral Tube Placement for Che
After several weeks of consultation and monitoring, the ENT finally advised a procedure called Myringotomy. Che's 2nd Tympanometry test was worse than her baseline. Her chronic allergies aggravated the build up of pressure in both ears and affected her hearing.

J-S Prom at Ayala Alabang Country Club
It was also my last day at the office when Che and Karen held their JS Prom. This time it's Karen as the Junior and Che as the Senior.
Due to some stupidity at the office with the computations and last minute endorsements, I didn’t get home earlier. Good thing I still managed to retrieve the half pan Baked Lasagna and Pancit Canton from the canteen which I got for my last swipe amount.
After picking up Czarina, we got to the Country Club a little past 6pm and left the two there. We came back at around 1am and took some pics.

Happy Birthday Che 2008
I was hoping for another Marjolaine cake from Red Ribbon but nopes, it was not to be. Che wanted Rocky Road. So we had that, Carbonara, Liempo and Lechon Manok.

Che's J-S Prom as a Junior
After some last minute preparations (hunting for a gown to use), it's finally Che's prom night. I quickly sneaked out of the office around 4:30pm. JP was having the birthday bash at MOA (more rounds of "buling-lingan" or bowling) and I've already excused myself from that.
We reached Bellevue Hotel at around 5:40pm. Gemma and her mom went with us. We skipped the "retouch" appointment with the parlor coz the girls looked fine already. As I did in the service awards night, we parked at the basement and then proceeded to the lobby.
