There wasn't much that can be done with the intermittent rains of Typhoon Feria. It was too wet outside to do gardening or other chores. And so I decided to revisit the old blogs that I've started last year.
These are the blogs that I started but somehow got pushed to the back burner for quite a while due to other life's priorities. But with a bit more free time nowadays, I'll be writing more entries.
Thus far, I've spent time enhancing the blog's theme, reorganizing the entries and updating some. I may be busy continuing this for the next few days. If you've got time, do visit them and you might pick up a pointer or two. The Lucky Cat beckons you to come on over and click on the links below!

School Suspension due to Feria
For two days, Karen, Sandra and Renz have been cooped up inside the house due to Typhoon Feria. The first day (Wednesday) announcement by PAGASA was a surprise. Storm signal #2 was declared late in the previous night and Karen caught it on TV. So DH knew about the suspension of classes already and didn't wake up Sandra and Karen the following morning. There was no need to wake up Che coz it was her day off from college.

Happy Father's Day 2009
Here's a poignant short video clip that I saw and shared in Facebook.
I remember the day I spent with Renz a couple of days ago.

Karen's Birthday 2009
It's also been a year today since Snoopy died. And Karen remembered it. How time flies. This is Karen's first birthday at the new house.
Karen had the choice for the cake (coz she bought it herself!) and got Rocky Road from Red Ribbon. What else did we have?
Lesee, from the above photo, there's Inihaw na Isaw ng Baboy, Inihaw ng Bitukang Manok, Inihaw ng Tenga ng Baboy (streetfood galore!). The sweet and spicy sarsa with vinegar was very good. We also had the usual Lechong Manok and Billones' Pancit Canton with tansan. :)

A Seahorse Toy
Today, my youngest, my 7-year old son Renz asked me to draw a seahorse for him. This was late in the afternoon when I spent the whole day with him. The girls were all in school and DH was still accompanying Che in UP Manila. Tita Gay was in La Union. So it was just me and him.
In the morning, I asked Renz if he wanted to go to our neighbor SM mall. It was too noisy outside as Meralco was cutting down trees with a chainsaw. Besides, I had to get our car registration stickers from nearby Land Transportation Office or LTO (walking distance). And so we went to LTO and then to SM. He was quite happy all throughout.

My Gardening Blog
Just to clarify my previous entry, I'm not shutting down this blog.
I'm creating a new blog on gardening and move my gardening posts here to that blog to avoid duplication. So don't be surprised if you see some familiar entries here disappear and then reappear in that other blog.

Gardening Blog Spinoff
I'm beginning to feel that this blog is slowly getting overrun by gardening-related entries. Ever since I was displaced by my old office, I've resumed my interest with home gardening. Of course having green-thumbed DH around makes it even easier.
Anyway, I'm thinking of moving these gardening posts to a gardening blog spinoff and will be be busy with that in the coming days.

First Day of School 2009
Yesterday was the first day for Sandra in her new school. Karen started school since last week. Che and Renz are still on vacation mode.
Come to think of it, this year is a milestone. It will be the first year the kids will be attending different schools.

Pampanga Vacation
We spent a 3-day vacation in Pampanga from June 4-6. My sister requested me to spend a couple of nights there while she was away in Singapore for a symposium. Karen has started school and Che's preparing for hers. So it was just DH, Renz, Sandra and me for a rainy and wet trip. It was a restful stay yet we still managed to do so much.
We peeled a discarded telephone wire so we could get the thin coated wires we use for gardening.
