Enough already!

That's what Poochie, our dog, seems to be saying with Renz's taunting.

Poor dog.

Here, she pulls down one of her ears. Although from the picture, it appears she's covering her eyes.

Either that or in reality she simply wants to play and does her "papansin" moves to catch Renz's attention.

Metro Swim - August 13

Yesterday Violet and I had our second swim at Metropolis. The first one was a month ago. That's her behind me in the photo below. She's a scuba diver and a Red Cross certified Swim Instructor.

I got to the pool before 2pm and the pumps were still on so there was no need to tell the staff. There was a couple still there when I arrived. Violet and a friend Eunice came much later at around 4:30pm and I've done a lot of drills already.

Our Mastermind Game Rules

Here's a picture of Renz playing Mastermind with me where I'm playing as the codebreaker.

He's playing as codemaker and is checking and scoring my guess codes. Something frustrating with codebreaking is when the codemaker makes mistakes in scoring.

When a codemaker scores a code wrongly, the rest of the codebreaker's codes or tries get affected because the codebreaker bases his succeeding codes on the previous scores.

That's why we've devised our own rules and terms to put a little twist on the game.

Mastermind Game

Yesterday, Renz and I played the board game Mastermind. For the young ones out there, Mastermind is a board game that came out and became highly popular in the 70's.

As a child, I remember getting excited playing this game then simply because the rules were few and the objective was simple. It's not like chess where each chess piece had its own "rule". No wonder I never got good in chess.

The old Mastermind game I remember was a small case that was made of hard plastic that was brown colored. I think it looked like the one in the picture below from gamesmuseum.com:

A Bad Case of DOMS

That's Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. I was supposed to go swimming yesterday at Metro but I had severe body pains and was having a slight fever. Che was laughing when I seemed unable to lift a dish to pass to her over at dinner.

It's that bad. I felt weak all over - like I was hit by a truck, or pounded to a pulp. Just last night, I couldn't sleep because of my pain. At around 2am, I took Mobic 15 mg and that helped a bit. But it was only after massaging my chest that I felt relief and went back to sleep.

What did I do? Well, I went back to using the balance stepper exerciser after a long time.

I only did around 40 minutes and it felt fine (I usually did 1 hour workouts before) with no problems AT ALL. And this still was last Tuesday. A few days before, I did my old dumbbell exercises for the shoulders.

Sinusuwerte (Getting Lucky)

Around this month of last year, we got Poochie as a puppy. Since we were just renting back then, we didn't have much space and she had to settle outside at the garage.

And the garage wasn't even fully covered. That meant she got wet and cold when the typhoon rains came.

But she survived.

Now, a year later, the dog's becoming too spoiled. With the new house, she's got a bigger place to roam. The garage's roof extends to the dirty kitchen and so that's plenty of space for her to sleep without getting wet.
